The Gas Turbine Research Establishment (GTRE), Bengaluru, under the Defence Research & Development Organization (DRDO), has released the official notification inviting applications for 150 Apprentice Trainee positions. These posts are open for candidates from Engineering, Non-Engineering, Diploma, and ITI backgrounds under the Apprentices Act, 1961.
As per the official notice, the apprenticeship training will be for a period of one year, and selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend as per their qualification. Only those who passed in the last five years (2021–2025) as regular candidates are eligible to apply. The selection will be based on academic merit, and shortlisted candidates will be informed through the DRDO website and email.

Educational Qualifications:
Graduate Apprentice (Engineering): B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical, Aeronautical, ECE, CSE, Civil, Metallurgy, etc.
Graduate Apprentice (Non-Engineering): B.Com, B.Sc, B.A, BBA, BCA in relevant streams
Diploma Apprentice: Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science, etc.
ITI Apprentice: ITI in trades such as Machinist, Fitter, Electrician, COPA, etc. from NCVT/SCVT
Age Limit (as on 08 May 2025):
Minimum Age – 18 years
Maximum Age – 27 years
Age relaxation for reserved categories will be applicable as per Govt. of India norms.
Note: Only candidates who passed in 2021–2025 as regular students are eligible. Candidates with higher qualifications or more than one year of work experience are not eligible.
