Government Medical College Anantnag has issued Advertisement Notice No. 09 GMCA of 2025 inviting online applications from eligible candidates for the tenure posts of Senior Residents and Demonstrators. The recruitment is open to candidates domiciled in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir who possess the required academic and professional qualifications. Vacancy Details:
The vacancies are available in multiple medical disciplines including Physiology, Forensic Medicine, Community Medicine, General Medicine, Anesthesiology, Respiratory Medicine, Radiotherapy and Radio-Diagnosis. Candidates applying for the post of Senior Resident or Demonstrator must fulfil the eligibility criteria as specified in the Teachers Eligibility Qualifications in Medical Institutions Regulations 2025.
Eligibility Criteria:
For the discipline of Physiology, candidates must possess an MBBS degree with MD or DNB in the concerned field from an institution recognized by the National Medical Commission and registered with the J&K State Medical Council. Alternatively, candidates with a postgraduate degree in Master of Science with a Doctor of Philosophy in the relevant medical subjects are also eligible. For all other disciplines, the essential qualification is MBBS with MD or DNB in the concerned specialty from a recognized institution and registration with the J&K State Medical Council.
The selected candidates will be appointed for a period of one year. The tenure is extendable up to three years, but the extension will be granted annually based on the performance of the candidate, as certified by the concerned Head of Department after each yearly evaluation. The engagement is purely temporary and tenure-based as per institutional guidelines.

After submitting the online application, candidates must send a hard copy of the form duly signed and complete in all respects. The hard copy should be accompanied by all required documents and a non-refundable bank draft of five hundred rupees pledged to the Principal, Government Medical College Anantnag, payable at J&K Bank Dialgam. The printed application form must reach the Administrative Officer, GMC Anantnag, on or before 17 December 2025.
