Islamic University of Science and Technology, Awantipora has released an official notice inviting applications for contractual Assistant Professor posts in various departments. The posts are offered on academic arrangement for teaching, research and allied activities.
As per the notification, candidates must fulfill the educational qualifications and eligibility criteria laid down under UGC norms. The tenure of engagement will be till 31st December 2025 or till the posts are filled on a substantive basis. Emoluments will be based on the candidate’s qualifications, with monthly pay ranging from Rs. 45,000 to Rs. 50,000.
Eligible candidates can apply online through the University website from 12 September 2025. The last date for submission of the online application is 17 September 2025, and hard copies must be submitted by 18 September 2025. An application fee of Rs. 500 is applicable.

Eligibility Criteria:
For Physics, Islamic Studies, and English Language and Literature, candidates must have a Master’s degree with 55% marks and must have cleared NET/SET/CSIR-UGC or hold a Ph.D. under UGC regulations.
For Electrical Engineering, candidates should have B.E./B.Tech./B.S. and M.E./M.Tech./M.S. in Electrical Engineering with first class, or a Ph.D. from an institute of national importance, or a Ph.D. from a globally ranked university.
For Management Studies, a Bachelor’s degree and Master’s in Business Administration/PGDM/CA/ICWA/M.Com. with first class and two years professional experience is required, along with NET/SET or Ph.D. under UGC regulations.
For Architecture, candidates should have a B.Arch. with 60% marks and three years relevant professional experience, or a B.Arch. and Master’s in Architecture or allied subjects with 60% marks and one year professional experience.
For Design your Degree (Design Thinking), candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree or 4-year diploma in Design, Fine Arts, Applied Arts, Architecture, or Engineering with first class, and a Master’s or PG Diploma in relevant design fields with first class.
Salary:
Emoluments will be Rs. 45,000 per month for PG, Rs. 48,000 for NET/SET/GATE, Rs. 50,000 for Ph.D., and Rs. 50,000 for B.Arch./M.Arch.

Candidates must apply online at www.iust.ac.in by paying the non-refundable application fee of Rs. 500. After successful submission, the hard copy of the filled form with self-attested documents must be submitted in the offices of respective departments by 18 September 2025.
Application Fee:
An application fee of Rs. 500 has to be paid online using debit card, credit card, or net banking.
Selection Process:
The shortlisting of candidates will be as per UGC Regulations 2018, with 20 candidates shortlisted per post and 5 for each additional post. The final selection will be based on interview only. The panel will remain valid for one year for filling vacancies that arise later.
