Government College for Women Jammu Recruitment 2025, Apply for Junior Linguist Dogri post

Govt College for Women Jammu has announced a temporary Junior Linguist Dogri post under a MeitY-funded project with selection through a computer-based test.

Government College for Women Parade Ground Jammu has announced a temporary engagement opportunity for the post of Junior Linguist-Dogri. The position is part of the research project “Indian Language to Indian Language Machine Translation: Bhashini” funded by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).

As per the notification, there is only one post available for Junior Linguist-Dogri. The appointment will be purely temporary and will last until 31st March 2026 or till the completion of the project, whichever comes earlier. The selection process will be based on a computer-based test that includes translation, proof reading, typing speed, and grammar evaluation.

Interested candidates must submit their applications on or before 31st August 2025. The test will be held on 2nd September 2025 at Government College for Women Parade Ground Jammu, and applicants must report by 10 AM.

Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates must hold an MA in Dogri. Knowledge of Dogri spellings and grammar is required along with the ability to type in Unicode Devanagari script at a speed of 20–25 words per minute. Candidates with higher qualifications like M.Phil or Ph.D. will get additional marks, and prior experience in the relevant field will also be considered with weightage. The engagement will remain valid until 31st March 2026 or completion of the project.

Selection Process:
The selection will be done entirely on the basis of performance in the computer-based test. The test will consist of translation of English/Dogri text into Dogri and vice versa, proof reading, typing speed, and grammar. Distribution of marks will be 50 marks for the computer test, 50 marks for basic qualification, additional 10 points for Ph.D., 5 marks for M.Phil, and up to 10 marks for experience. Candidates must carry original documents, two passport-size photographs, and a valid ID proof for verification. No TA/DA will be provided for attending the test.
