IREL India Limited has released the notification for apprentice training under the Apprentices Act 1961. A total of 41 seats are open for Graduate Apprentices, Technician Apprentices and Trade Apprentices at the Manavalakurichi Unit in Kanyakumari District, Tamil Nadu.
As per the official notification, the minimum age for candidates is 18 years and the maximum is 25 years, with relaxations for reserved categories. Selection will be on the basis of a merit list prepared from qualifying marks, followed by document verification, medical fitness, and police verification.
Interested candidates must complete online registration on the designated apprenticeship portals and then send a hard copy of the filled application form with documents to the IREL office by 20th September 2025. No application fee is mentioned in the notification.

IREL has invited applications for a total of 41 apprentice posts. Graduate Apprentices include 2 in Electrical Engineering, 1 in Civil Engineering and 1 in Mechanical Engineering. Technician Apprentices include 1 in Mechanical, 1 in Electrical and 2 in Civil. Trade Apprentices include 10 Fitters, 5 Electricians, 1 Mechanic Motor Vehicle, 4 Welders, 2 Instrument Mechanics, 1 Refrigeration and AC Mechanic, 1 Turner, 2 Plumbers, 2 Carpenters, 2 Lab Assistants in Chemical Plant, and 3 PASAA or COPA Programming Assistants.

Eligibility conditions require candidates to hold B.E or B.Tech degrees for Graduate Apprentices, Diplomas for Technician Apprentices, and ITI or B.Sc or COPA as per the trade requirement for Trade Apprentices. Distance learning, correspondence or part-time qualifications are not accepted. Higher qualifications like M.E, M.Tech, MCA, MBA, CA, ICWA, PhD or LLB are not considered. The age limit is between 18 to 25 years with relaxations of 5 years for SC or ST, 3 years for OBC and 10 years for PwBD candidates.
How to Apply:
Candidates have to apply through a two-step process. First, they must register online at www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in for Trade Apprentices using Establishment Code E05203301006 or at www.nats.education.gov.in for Graduate and Technician Apprentices using Establishment Code STNKKC000004. After registration, candidates must fill Annexure A, attach self-attested copies of educational and personal documents, and send the application to The Chief Manager HRM, IREL India Limited, Manavalakurichi, Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu before 20th September 2025.
Selection Process:
The selection will be based on a merit list of marks obtained in qualifying exams. If a tie occurs, candidates with higher percentages will be preferred, and if still tied, older candidates will be given preference. Final selection will be subject to verification of documents, medical fitness by the company’s medical officer, and police verification.
The stipend for apprentices will be provided as per Apprenticeship Rules 1992 and applicable government notifications.
