CSIR-Central Scientific Instruments Organisation (CSIR-CSIO), Chandigarh, has released its official notification for the engagement of Technical Assistants under Advertisement No. Regular 3/2025. The organization has announced a total of 25 posts across different engineering and science disciplines.
As per the notification, candidates applying for these posts should not exceed 28 years of age as on the closing date of application. The pay level for all the posts is Level-6 in the pay matrix, with a total approximate monthly emolument of Rs. 71,000. Selection will be carried out through a Trade Test and a Written Examination.
Eligible applicants can apply online through the official website of CSIR-CSIO from 16 July 2025 to 15 August 2025 up to 5:00 PM. Eligibility Criteria:
Below, we have summarized the required eligibility criteria, such as qualification, age limit, experience, etc. Candidates are advised to review the eligibility criteria before applying for any post mentioned in the notification.
For Mechanical Engineering, candidates must have a diploma in Mechanical Engineering/Technology of at least 3 years full-time duration with a minimum of 60% marks and 2 years of relevant experience. A 2-year diploma (lateral entry) is also acceptable if accompanied by the same experience.
For Computer Science & IT, candidates must hold a diploma of at least 3 years (or 2 years in case of lateral admission) or a B.Sc. in Computer Science with 60% marks and relevant experience.
For Electronics, a diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering/Technology with 60% marks and 2 years of experience is required (either full 3 years or 2 years in lateral entry format).
For Bioengineering/Biochemistry/Biotechnology, a B.Sc. with 60% marks and one year of relevant experience is necessary.
For Chemistry, candidates must possess a B.Sc. or equivalent with 60% marks and one year of experience in a relevant discipline.
For Civil Engineering, a diploma (3 years or 2 years for lateral admission) with 60% marks and 2 years of experience in estimating, civil works supervision, and maintenance is required.
Age Limit:
The upper age limit for all posts is 28 years as of the closing date of online applications. Relaxations are applicable as per CSIR and Government of India norms.

The application fee for the recruitment process is Rs. 590 (Rs. 500 + GST) for General, OBC, and EWS candidates. The payment must be made online via State Bank Collect. No fee is required for SC/ST/PwBD/Women/Ex-Servicemen.
Selection Process:
The selection of candidates will be on the basis of a Trade Test followed by a Competitive Written Examination. The written test consists of three papers — Mental Ability, General Awareness & English Language, and Concerned Subject. Paper I will be qualifying, and only those who clear it will have their Paper II and III evaluated. Final merit will be based on Paper II and III scores.
