Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J) has invited applications for four contractual positions of Assistant Professors in the Institute of Biotechnology for the academic session 2025-26. The engagement is purely on academic arrangement basis.
As per the advertisement dated 14 July 2025, the posts are available in the disciplines of Bioinformatics, Nanotechnology, Biomathematics/Biostatistics, and Genetic Engineering & Synthetic Biology. The maximum age limit is 55 years as on 01 January 2025. The selected candidates will receive a consolidated monthly salary of Rs. 45,000 for Ph.D. holders and Rs. 35,000 for those with a master’s degree.
Eligible candidates must submit their applications in the prescribed format available on the SKUAST-J website. Eligibility Criteria:
Below, we have summarized the required eligibility criteria, such as qualification, age limit, and experience. Candidates are advised to review the eligibility criteria before applying for any post mentioned in the notification.
Educational Qualifications: A high second-class postgraduate degree (55% marks) in the relevant discipline (Bioinformatics, Nanotechnology, Biostatistics, or Biotechnology with relevant specialization) is essential. Preference will be given to candidates with NET/SET or Ph.D. and teaching/research experience supported by publications.
Age Limit: Candidates must be between 20 and 55 years of age as on 01 January 2025.
Other Requirements: The engagement is for the first semester of the academic session and may be extended based on performance and funding. Selected candidates must provide prior notice of one month in case of resignation. The arrangement does not guarantee future regular appointment in the university.
