Government Medical College (GMC), Srinagar has announced official notification No. 08 of 2025 for the engagement of Senior Residents and Tutors on tenure basis. This recruitment drive is for various disciplines, and the appointment will be under S.O. 364 of 2020 for not in-service candidates, while in-service candidates must follow the prescribed departmental procedures.
As per the notification, the selected candidates will be initially appointed for one year, extendable up to a maximum of three years based on satisfactory performance. The disciplines include Medical Oncology, Community Medicine, Medicine, Cardiology, Endocrinology, Neurosurgery, and more. The eligibility criteria vary based on the discipline but generally require MD/MS/DNB/DM/MCh from institutions recognized by the NMC.

Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants must possess MD/MS/DNB/DM/MCh in the concerned discipline from an institution recognized by the NMC. Candidates who have appeared in the final examination of the respective courses can also apply.
The age limit for both in-service and not in-service candidates is 45 years as on 20 June 2025.
The selection of the candidates shall be made solely on the basis of performance in an MCQ-based written test as prescribed by Government Order No. 383-JK (HME) of 2024 dated 20-06-2024.
