The Indian Air Force has released the official AFCAT 2/2025 notification inviting applications for Flying and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) Branches. The courses will commence in July 2026 and are open to both men and women under the Short Service Commission. A total of 284 vacancies have been announced under various branches.

Educational Qualifications
Candidates must have passed 10+2 with 50% marks each in Physics and Mathematics and must hold a graduation or BE/BTech degree with at least 60% marks for the Flying Branch. For Ground Duty (Technical), degrees in engineering disciplines are required. For Non-Technical roles, relevant qualifications as per the branch are required.
Age Limit
For Flying Branch: 20 to 24 years as on 1 July 2026.
For Ground Duty Branches: 20 to 26 years as on 1 July 2026.
Other Requirements
Candidates below 25 years must be unmarried. Divorcees and widows/widowers below this age are not eligible.
How to Apply:
Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria are encouraged to apply through the Indian Air Force AFCAT portal from 2 June 2025 to 1 July 2025.
Application Process:
The application fee for the recruitment process is Rs. 550 plus GST for AFCAT entry. NCC Special Entry applicants are exempted from fees.
Selection Process:
The selection process for AFCAT 2/2025 will consist of the following stages:
First, candidates will appear for the AFCAT written exam. Qualified candidates will receive call letters for the AFSB interview, which includes psychological tests, group tests, and personal interviews. Candidates applying for the Flying Branch will also undergo the CPSS test. Final selection is subject to medical examination and merit list.
