The University of Kashmir has released an official extension notice inviting applications for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under a research project funded by the National Mission on Himalayan Studies (NMHS). The project is titled “Emerging Contaminants in Himalayan Catchments: Sources, distribution, fate of transport, and management.”
The recruitment is being conducted by the Department of Environmental Science under the leadership of Dr. Sami Ullah Bhat, Principal Investigator of the project. Two JRF positions are available initially for a period of one year and extendable based on performance and availability of funds.
Interested candidates can apply through the provided Google Form and submit the necessary documents before the new deadline, 1 June 2025. The original last date was extended from 25 May 2025.

Eligibility Criteria:

The first JRF/JPF position requires a postgraduate degree in Environmental Science along with NET or GATE qualification. Candidates with experience in microplastic or water pollution and those interested in pursuing a Ph.D. will be preferred.
The second JRF/JPF position requires a postgraduate degree in Geoinformatics, Applied Geology, or Geography along with NET or GATE qualification. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in Glaciology or Hydrology and those planning to pursue a Ph.D.

Selection Process:
