Government Medical College Srinagar has released an official notification inviting applications from eligible candidates for Senior Resident and Tutor posts across various medical disciplines. Interested candidates who are domiciled in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir can apply online as per the details shared below.
According to Advertisement Notice No. 06 of 2025, these tenure-based positions will be initially for one year and extendable up to three years based on performance. The selection will be made on the basis of a written test as prescribed by the Government. The maximum age limit for applying is 45 years.
Eligible candidates can apply online at www.gmcs.ac.in from 14th May 2025 to 24th May 2025. The application fee of ₹1000 must be paid online. The list of required documents and detailed eligibility conditions for each discipline are provided below.

No. of Posts: Multiple disciplines including Anesthesiology, Orthopaedics, Medicine, Forensic Medicine, Radiation Oncology, Paediatrics, Biochemistry, Neurosurgery, Endocrinology, Neonatology, Neurology, Pediatric Surgery, Surgical Gastroenterology, Medical Oncology, Pediatric Nephrology, Pediatric Cardiology, Pediatric Neurology, and Pediatric Gastroenterology.
Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants should possess MD/MS/DNB/MCh/DM in the respective discipline from institutions recognized by NMC. For Biochemistry, both medical (MD/DNB) and non-medical (M.Sc in Medical Biochemistry) candidates can apply if their degree is from a UGC recognized university. Candidates who have appeared in the final examination of their postgraduate or postdoctoral course can also apply.
The upper age limit is 45 years as on 24.05.2025 for both in-service and not-in-service candidates.
In-service doctors will be paid salary as per their last pay certificate. Not-in-service candidates will be engaged on academic arrangement basis under S.O. 364 of 2020 and will be paid stipend accordingly.

The application fee for the recruitment process is ₹1000. Candidates must pay online using Net Banking, UPI, Credit or Debit cards. The payment is non-refundable.
Selection Process:
The selection of candidates will be on the basis of performance in a written test only. This test is prescribed as per Government Order No. 383-JK (HME) of 2024.
