CSIR-CBRI Notification for Junior Stenographer Posts – Apply Online by 25 May

Central Building Research Institute (CSIR-CBRI) has issued an official notification inviting online applications for Junior Stenographer posts. The institute has announced a total of 5 vacancies, which also include 1 seat reserved for Ex-Servicemen. Eligible candidates who meet the criteria can apply online through the CSIR-CBRI portal before 25 May 2025.

According to the CSIR-CBRI notification, the maximum age limit for these posts is 27 years as on 25 May 2025. Selected candidates will be placed in Pay Level 4 ranging from Rs. 25,500 to Rs. 81,100 per month. The selection process will include a written exam followed by a proficiency test in stenography.

Vacancy Details of CSIR-CBRI:
CSIR-CBRI has invited applications for the post of Junior Stenographer. A total of 5 vacancies are available under UR category, out of which 1 is reserved for Ex-Servicemen.

Eligibility Criteria of Junior Stenographer Posts:
Candidates must have passed 10+2/XII or its equivalent. Additionally, proficiency in stenography is required as per the norms prescribed by DOPT. The maximum age limit for all applicants is 27 years as of 25 May 2025.

How to Apply for CSIR-CBRI Junior Stenographer 2025:
Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria are encouraged to apply through the official CSIR-CBRI website. The application must be completed online before the deadline mentioned.

Application Fee: Candidates under the UR/OBC/EWS category are required to pay Rs. 500 as application fee. SC/ST/PwBD/Women/ESM category applicants are exempted from paying the fee.

Selection Process:
The selection of candidates will be on the basis of a competitive written examination followed by a proficiency test in stenography. The written test will have 200 questions covering General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, and English Language & Comprehension. Each incorrect answer will result in a deduction of 0.25 marks.

The proficiency test involves one dictation of 10 minutes at 80 wpm. For English transcription, the duration is 50 minutes (70 minutes for scribes). For Hindi, it’s 65 minutes (90 minutes for scribes). Evaluation will be done based on the transcripts.
