MECL Executive Trainee Notification 2025 Out – 30 Vacancies

Mineral Exploration and Consultancy Limited (MECL), a Mini-Ratna-I CPSE under the Ministry of Mines, Government of India, has officially announced vacancies for Executive Trainee positions in Geology and Geophysics. A total of 30 vacancies will be filled through this drive.

As stated in the official advertisement, these positions are for candidates who have cleared the Written Round of the UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist Examination 2023 but were not recommended for final selection. The selected candidates will undergo training and probation, with a salary ranging from Rs. 40,000 to Rs. 1,40,000 per month. Interested candidates must apply through MECL’s online recruitment portal from 15th May 2025 to 5th June 2025.

Applicants must meet all eligibility criteria, submit required documents, and complete the bond requirements as outlined in the notification. The shortlisted candidates will be selected based on their UPSC Written Examination marks, and no further written test or interview will be held.

Eligibility criteria:

Educational Qualifications:
Executive Trainee (Geology): M.Sc/ M.Tech/ M.Sc.Tech. in Geology, Applied Geology, Earth Science, Exploration Geology, Mineral Exploration or Geological Technology from recognized institutions.
Executive Trainee (Geophysics): M.Sc/ M.Tech/ M.Sc.Tech. in Geophysics, Applied Geophysics, or Geophysical Technology. ODL degrees are not acceptable.

Age Limit:
The maximum age limit is 28 years as on 23 April 2025.
Relaxations:
SC/ST – 5 years, OBC (NCL) – 3 years, PwBD – up to 10 years, as per Government of India rules.

Other Requirements:
Only candidates who cleared the UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist Examination 2023 Written Round and have consented to share their marks are eligible. A service bond of Rs. 1.8 lakh and retention amount deduction of Rs. 5,000/month for 36 months is applicable.

Application fee:
Candidates are required to pay Rs. 500 as application fee (General/EWS/OBC). SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen/Departmental candidates are exempted. The fee must be paid via net banking to MECL’s account in SBI Nagpur.


Selection process:
The selection of candidates will be on the basis of the UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist Examination 2023 written examination marks. No further written test or interview will be conducted. Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification.
