Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K) has released an official notification inviting applications for the post of Senior Research Fellow (SRF) under a DST-sponsored project. The project is titled “AI-Based Smart Solar Irrigation System for High Density Apple Orchards in Temperate Climate.” The position will be filled on a contractual basis, co-terminus with the project.
As per the official notice issued by the Division of Irrigation and Drainage Engineering, College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, SKUAST-K Shalimar, the selected candidate will work closely on research activities involving smart irrigation, sensors, and AI-based systems in agriculture.

Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Soil and Water Conservation Engineering / Irrigation and Drainage Engineering / Renewable Energy Engineering / Electronics Engineering from a recognized university
OR
Master’s degree in Engineering / Technology (Renewable Energy, Electronics, Agriculture Engineering – IDE/SWCE) with at least 55% marks and two years of research experience
Other Requirements:
The candidate should have experience in handling sensors, controllers, motors, and smart systems. Skills in Python, C, or C++ are desirable, along with hands-on experience in solar PV systems, IoT, or AI/ML applications in agriculture. Publications in peer-reviewed journals related to AI optimization, renewable energy, and precision agriculture are preferred.
