The Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), an autonomous institution under the Department of Atomic Energy, has invited online applications for various technical and trainee posts at its Mumbai campus. The recruitment drive offers a total of three positions under Advertisement No. 2025/4.
As per the official notification, TIFR is seeking eligible candidates for the posts of Engineer (Mechanical), Scientific Assistant (Electronics/Physics), and Library Trainee. These appointments will be made on a full-time basis. Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates interested in applying can check the eligibility criteria, age limit, application fee, and other essential details below.
For the post of Engineer (Mechanical), candidates must hold a full-time M.E./M.Tech. in Mechanical/Industrial/Production Engineering with at least 60% marks, or a Ph.D. in Mechanical/Industrial/Production Engineering with expertise in modern machining and CAD/CAM/CAE. Candidates must also have a minimum of 2 years of experience in precision machining, production planning, and managing a tool room. The age limit is 35 years.
For Scientific Assistant, applicants must have either a diploma in Electronics & Communication Engineering or a B.Sc. in Physics/Electronics/Applied Physics/Electrical disciplines with at least 60% marks. A minimum of 2 years of experience in electronics, including programming and troubleshooting of microcontrollers, is required. The age limit is 28 years.
For Library Trainee, candidates must hold a graduate degree and a B.Lib. degree. Those awaiting results from their final semester can also apply. The age limit is 28 years.
