Indian Institute of Technology Jammu has released an official advertisement for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. The position is for a DST-funded research project titled “Multifunctional composites and structural health monitoring for smart concrete structures.” The appointment will initially be for six months and may be extended depending on the duration of the project.
As per the official notification, candidates must hold relevant postgraduate and undergraduate qualifications in Mechanical, Materials, Aerospace Engineering, or related fields. Candidates must also have cleared a national-level eligibility test such as GATE or CSIR-NET. The upper age limit for the position is 30 years, with relaxation applicable to reserved categories.

Eligibility Criteria of Junior Research Fellow Post:
Candidates must have M.E./M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Applied Mechanics, Aerospace Engineering or related streams with a minimum of 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA. B.E./B.Tech with similar background and minimum marks is also accepted.
Additionally, candidates must have qualified in one of the following national eligibility exams:
GATE
CSIR-UGC NET (including lectureship)
National-level exams by DST, DBT, DRDO, ICMR, ICAR, IISc, IITs, NISER, etc.
Desirable skills include:
Programming knowledge in C/C++, Python, MATLAB
Experience with FEM software such as ABAQUS or ANSYS
The upper age limit is 30 years. Age relaxation of up to 5 years is applicable for SC/ST/OBC/women/physically handicapped candidates.
