Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL), a Government of India enterprise under the Ministry of Mines, has officially released a notification for the empanelment of retired officers as Inquiry Officers. The empanelment will be for a tenure of three years, which may be extended up to five years, with a maximum permissible age limit of 70 years.
As per the official information, applications are invited from retired officers from CPSEs (E-8 grade and above) or Government service (Level 14 and above) who have experience in handling vigilance, disciplinary, or administrative matters. Eligible candidates should be between 58 and 67 years old as on the date of notification.
The duly filled application in the prescribed format (Annexure-1) along with supporting documents must be submitted via post to the Corporate Office of HCL in Kolkata on or before 31 May 2025. The honorarium for each case will range from ₹50,000 to ₹90,000 depending on the level and number of witnesses.

Educational Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must be retired officers from CPSEs in Grade E-8 or above (with pay scale of ₹1,20,000 – ₹2,80,000), Government services at Level 14 or above (as per 7th CPC). They must have dealt with vigilance, disciplinary, or administrative matters during their service.
Age Limit
