Kashmir University Notification 2025 Out for Cartographer, Surveying Assistant and Photographer Posts

University of Kashmir has released a notice for 3 vacancies in Geography Department including Cartographer, Surveying Assistant and Photographer. Online form available till 28 April.

Kashmir University has issued Advertisement Notice No. 03 of 2025 inviting online applications from eligible domiciles of the UT of Jammu and Kashmir for various posts in the Department of Geography & Disaster Management. This notification includes openings for Cartographer, Surveying Assistant, and Photographer roles.

As per the notification, the upper age limit for applicants varies between 27 and 43 years based on categories, with a minimum age of 18 years. Selected candidates will be paid salaries ranging from ₹16,900 to ₹1,12,400 depending on the post. The selection process includes screening and other stages to be notified separately.

Interested and eligible candidates can apply online through the official website of Kashmir University from 7th April 2025 to 28th April 2025. Candidates must also submit hard copies by 2nd May 2025. The application fee is ₹750, while PwD candidates are exempted from payment. All eligibility and application details are provided below.

Vacancy Details:
This recruitment drive aims to fill the following posts in the Department of Geography & Disaster Management, University of Kashmir.
1) Cartographer: 01 (UR)
2) Surveying Assistant: 01 (UR)
3) Photographer: 01 (UR)

Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates interested in applying can check the eligibility criteria, age limit, application fee, and other essential details below.

i) Cartographer: Candidates must possess an M.A./M.Sc. in Geography with at least 50% marks and a six-month certificate or diploma in RS & GIS or Geoinformatics. Proficiency in Digital Cartography is desirable.
ii) Surveying Assistant: Candidates must have an M.A./M.Sc. in Geography with at least 50% marks and proficiency in advanced surveying techniques including total station and DGPS.
iii) Photographer post: Candidates must have an M.A./M.Sc. in Geography with at least 50% marks, along with proficiency in photogrammetry and image interpretation.

The age limit is a minimum of 18 years and a maximum of 40 years for open merit candidates, 42 years for physically challenged applicants, and 43 years for SC, ST, RBA, OBC, EWS, LAC/IB categories.

Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria are encouraged to apply through the Kashmir University official portal at www.kashmiruniversity.net between 7th April and 28th April 2025.

Application Fee:
Candidates are required to pay an application fee of ₹750 via online mode. PwD candidates are exempted from the application fee.
