ZSI Andaman and Nicobar Recruitment 2025 for 42 Research and Technical Posts, Apply Before 5 April

The Zoological Survey of India (ZSI), under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, has released the official notification inviting applications for temporary positions under various research projects in Great Nicobar Island (GNI), Andaman and Nicobar Islands. A total of 42 vacancies are open for posts including Project Scientist-II, Senior Research Fellow (SRF), Junior Research Fellow (JRF), Field Assistant, and Driver cum Multi Task Assistant.

As per the notification issued on 17 March 2025, these vacancies are purely contractual and co-terminus with the projects titled “Conservation and Management Plan for Intertidal Marine Fauna of Great Nicobar Island” and “Conservation and Management of Coral Reefs of Great Nicobar Island.” The posts offer consolidated monthly salaries up to ₹67,000. Eligible candidates can submit their applications by post, in person, or via email before 5 April 2025.

Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualifications

  • Project Scientist-II: Ph.D. in Marine Biology, Ecology, Conservation Biology or related field with demonstrated research experience, marine fieldwork, GIS & Remote Sensing, AI, scientific writing.
  • SRF: M.Sc. in Marine Biology/Zoology/Environmental Studies with minimum 2 years’ research experience and publications.
  • JRF: M.Sc. in Marine Biology/Zoology/Environmental Studies with 55% marks and CSIR-NET/GATE qualification. Non-NET candidates eligible for lower stipend.
  • Field Assistant: Graduate with one year experience in lab or field sample collection; basic computer knowledge.
  • Driver cum Multi Task Assistant: 10th pass with valid driving license and 5 years’ experience in government/public sector.

Age Limit

  • Project Scientist-II: Maximum 40 years
  • SRF: Maximum 32 years
  • JRF: Maximum 28 years
  • Field Assistant & Driver MTA: Maximum 30 years
