UPSC Notification 2025 Out for Lecturer Posts in Foreign Languages, Apply Online by 10 April
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially announced openings for Lecturer positions in foreign languages. The notification was released on 22 March 2025, and applications are invited through the online mode only via the UPSC recruitment portal.
As per the official advertisement, UPSC is recruiting for Lecturer posts in Burmese, French, and Russian languages under the Ministry of Defence at the School of Foreign Languages, New Delhi. The pay scale for all posts is at Level-10 under the 7th CPC. The maximum age limit ranges from 35 to 40 years depending on category and post.
Interested candidates who meet the eligibility requirements must apply online through the official UPSC website by 10 April 2025. Applications will not be accepted after the deadline. Vacancy Details:
This recruitment drive aims to fill a total of four Lecturer vacancies in foreign languages. The post-wise breakup is as follows —
Lecturer (Burmese): 01 post
Lecturer (French): 01 post
Lecturer (Russian): 02 posts
All posts are located at the School of Foreign Languages, Ministry of Defence, New Delhi.
Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for the above advertised positions, candidates must hold a Master’s Degree in the concerned language from a recognized university and possess at least one year of experience in teaching or translation in the respective language. The upper age limit is 35 years for UR candidates and 40 years for ST candidates. A Ph.D. in the respective language is desirable.
Application Process:
Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria must apply through the online recruitment portal at upsconline.gov.in. No other mode of application is accepted for these posts.
Application Fee:
The application fee for General, OBC, and EWS candidates is Rs. 25, which can be paid via cash at any SBI branch, net banking, or card payment. Women and candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwBD categories are exempted from the fee.
Selection Process:
The selection of candidates will be based on a screening of applications followed by a recruitment test, if required. The final selection will be made based on performance in the personal interview. The recruitment test will be conducted only if the number of applicants exceeds a reasonable limit as decided by the Commission.
