The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially started the registration process for the Combined Defence Services (CDS) II and National Defence Academy & Naval Academy (NDA & NA) II examinations 2025. These exams will recruit candidates for various defence services with a total of 859 vacancies. The written examination for both will be held on 14th September 2025.
As per the official announcement, the new registration portal includes four modules: account creation, universal registration, common application form, and examination-specific forms. The first three modules are universal and can be filled at any time, while the last one must be submitted within the given application window.
The last date to apply online is 17th June 2025. Candidates are advised to visit the official UPSC portal and complete the application process well in time. The examination is open to both male and female candidates who meet the eligibility conditions specified by UPSC.

Eligibility Criteria of CDS and NDA Posts:
Educational Qualifications:
Qualifications vary depending on the service wing and examination applied for. Full eligibility details are available in the respective official notifications.
Age Limit:
Only eligible unmarried candidates within the age ranges specified by UPSC may apply. For NDA/NA, candidates must be born between 2nd January 2007 and 1st January 2010.
Other Requirements:
Candidates must fulfill all physical and medical fitness standards as specified by UPSC. Married candidates or those marrying during training are not eligible.
Application Process for UPSC CDS, NDA & NA II 2025:
Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria must apply online at upsconline.nic.in using the new Universal Registration and Common Application Form. Once registered, candidates should fill out the respective examination forms and submit them before 17th June 2025.
Application Fee:
The application fee for the recruitment process is structured according to categories:
For UPSC CDS II: General/OBC candidates must pay ₹200/-. Female/SC/ST candidates are exempted.
For UPSC NDA & NA II: General/OBC candidates must pay ₹100/-. Female/SC/ST candidates and Wards of JCOs/NCOs/ORs are exempted.
Payment can be made via Visa/Master/RuPay Credit/Debit Card, UPI, or net banking of any bank.
Selection Process:
Selection will be done on the basis of a written examination conducted by UPSC followed by interviews. For NDA & NA, the SSB Interview includes intelligence and personality tests. Final selection includes document verification and medical fitness assessment.
