University of Kashmir PRC Notification 2025 for Field Investigator, UDC, Peon and Research Fellows

The Population Research Centre, University of Kashmir, has released Advertisement Notice No. 1 of 2025 (Revised) inviting applications from domicile candidates of Jammu & Kashmir for various contractual positions. The posts include Field Investigator, Upper Division Clerk, Peon, Research Fellow-I, and Research Fellow-II. These appointments will be purely on a contractual basis for an initial period of one year, extendable up to three years depending on performance and funding from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

As per the notification, the selection for Research Fellow-I and Research Fellow-II will be done through a walk-in interview scheduled on 07 August 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Office of the Coordinator, PRC, University of Kashmir. For Field Investigator, UDC, and Peon, candidates must apply online via the PRC website and submit the required documents in PDF format by the closing date.

Eligible candidates for the posts of Field Investigator, UDC, and Peon can submit applications through the PRC website http://prcku.uok.edu.in till 10 August 2025, 5:00 PM. For Research Fellow-I and Research Fellow-II, the last date to apply is 05 August 2025, 5:00 PM. Only domicile candidates of J&K are eligible, and no TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.

The registration process for the contractual posts begins immediately. Last date to apply for Field Investigator, UDC, and Peon: 10 August 2025. Last date to apply for Research Fellow-I and Research Fellow-II: 05 August 2025. Walk-in interview for Research Fellow-I and II: 07 August 2025 at 10:00 AM.

Eligibility Criteria:
For Field Investigator, candidates must have at least a second-class Post Graduate Degree in Demography, Population Studies, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Geography, or Social Work from a recognized institute/university, with experience in data collection or analysis.
For Upper Division Clerk, a second-class bachelor’s degree in any discipline is required, along with five years of post-qualification work experience in office/accounts administration, including three years with PFMS and allied modules, and knowledge of GFR and procurement processes.
For Peon, candidates should have passed at least matriculation and not more than 10+2.
For Research Fellow-I, a second-class Post Graduate Degree in Demography, Population Studies, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Sociology, or Public Health from a recognized institution/university is required, with four years’ post-qualification experience (relaxable in deserving cases).
For Research Fellow-II, a second-class Post Graduate Degree in Demography, Population Studies, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, or Sociology from a recognized institution/university is required, with one year of post-qualification experience (relaxable in deserving cases).
Age limits will be as per University of Kashmir rules.
