University of Kashmir Botany Department Announces JRF and Field Attendant Posts – Apply by 31 May

The Department of Botany, University of Kashmir, Srinagar has released an official advertisement for the recruitment of project staff under the research project titled “Structure and Functioning of Himalayan Monsoon Shadow Forest Ecosystems.” The sub-project, funded by the National Mission on Himalayan Studies (NMHS), aims to explore species diversity in monsoonal and monsoon-shadow forest regions of the Western Himalayas.

The university is inviting online applications for two Junior Research Fellow/Project Fellow posts and one Field Attendant/MTS post on a purely temporary basis. The positions are co-terminus with the project and initially for a period of one year, extendable based on performance and funding.

Post Name: Junior Research Fellow / Project Fellow

Monthly Emoluments: ₹37,000 for first two years and ₹42,000 for third year + 16% HRA

Post Name: Field Attendant / MTS
No. of Posts: 01
Monthly Emoluments: ₹10,000 (consolidated)


Eligibility Criteria:

Junior Research Fellow / Project Fellow
Essential Qualification:
– Postgraduate degree in Botany with at least 55% marks
– Must have qualified NET
Age Limit: 18 to 30 years
Desirable:
– Experience in field surveys and plant sampling

Note: If NET-qualified candidates are not available, Junior Project Fellows (JPF) may be considered and paid as per MoEFCC norms.

Field Attendant / MTS
Essential Qualification:
– Must have passed 10th Class from a recognized board
Age Limit: 18 to 27 years
Desirable:
– Experience in field surveys and plant sampling

Selection Process:
The selection process will be based on an offline (physical) interview of eligible candidates.
