The Department of Botany at the University of Kashmir has released an official notification inviting applications for the recruitment of project staff under the NMHS-funded research project titled “Structure and Functioning of Himalayan Monsoon Shadow Forest Ecosystems.” The project is sanctioned by the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Government of India.
The recruitment includes two posts of Junior Research Fellow (JRF)/Project Fellow and one post of Field Attendant/Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS). These positions are purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The initial engagement will be for one year and may be extended based on performance and fund release.

Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualifications:
– JRF/Project Fellow: Postgraduate degree in Botany with at least 55% marks and NET qualification.
– Field Attendant/MTS: Must have passed Class 10 from a recognized board.
Desirable Qualifications:
– JRF: Experience in field survey and plant sampling.
– MTS: Experience in plant-based fieldwork.
Age Limit (as on last date of application):
– JRF/Project Fellow: 18 to 30 years
– Field Attendant/MTS: 18 to 27 years
Other Requirements:
Candidates must be physically and mentally fit to work in high-altitude mountainous regions as the project involves extensive fieldwork.
