Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai has announced a recruitment notification for the engagement of Research Officers and Research Assistants on a contractual basis. A total of 22 vacancies are to be filled under the project titled “Historical Perspectives of the Land Governance and Administration System in ADC Areas of the North-Eastern States.”
This recruitment is for a short-duration research assignment requiring extensive fieldwork across the North-Eastern states of India. Selected candidates will work under the School of Social Work, TISS, and will be stationed at TISS Guwahati with travel assignments in Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, and Mizoram.
Candidates must hold a postgraduate qualification in Social Work or Social Sciences. Those with M.Phil. or Ph.D. or ongoing research experience will be preferred for the Research Officer role. The selected candidates will receive a consolidated monthly remuneration along with covered fieldwork expenses.

Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualifications:
For Research Officer: Master’s degree in Social Work or Social Sciences. Preference for candidates with M.Phil./Ph.D. or advanced Ph.D. stage.

Other Requirements:
Candidates must be self-motivated, fluent in English, and preferably in local North-Eastern languages.
