SMVDU Recruitment for Project Positions of JRF and Assistants under the PAIR Programme

Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University has announced project positions for the ANRF funded research project under the PAIR programme. The project titled Dynamic Research Ecosystem for Advanced Materials is sanctioned by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation. Applications are invited from Indian nationals who meet the required educational and experience criteria.

The project is a collaboration between IIT Ropar as the hub institute and SMVDU as the spoke institute. The selected candidates will work on research activities related to advanced materials under project RP-157. Monthly emoluments are provided as per ANRF norms and vary based on qualifications and category of the post.

Vacancy Details:
This project aims to fill the positions of Junior Research Fellows and Scientific and Administrative Assistants. There are two JRF positions in Mechanical and Materials, two JRF positions in Energy Sciences, one JRF position in Physics or Materials Science, and two positions for Scientific and Administrative Assistants.

Eligibility Criteria:
JRF Mechanical and Materials: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technology in Mechanical, Materials Science, Production, Design, Manufacturing or Metallurgy from a recognised university. Postgraduate qualification, GATE scores and knowledge of design software, three dimensional printing and experimental tribology are desirable.
JRF Energy Sciences: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technology in Energy, Energy Management, Renewable Energy, Energy Systems, Manufacturing, Metallurgy, Mechanical, Thermal Science and Engineering or Chemical Engineering. A four year bachelor’s degree in physics, applied physics or environmental science with first division is also acceptable. Postgraduate qualification in Physics or Material Science, and experience in synthesis and characterisation of energy storage material is desirable.
JRF Physics or Materials Science: Postgraduate degree in Physics, Applied Physics or Material Science or a four year bachelor’s degree in physics, applied physics, engineering physics or material science. Candidates who have qualified GATE or NET and possess experience in material synthesis and characterisation will be preferred.
Scientific and Administrative Assistant: Graduate degree in Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Energy, Materials, Metallurgy, Production or Manufacturing Engineering. Preference will be given to candidates with previous project experience, computer proficiency, good English communication skills and willingness for field visits and documentation work.

Selection Process:
The selection of candidates will be based on shortlisting criteria fixed by the university and an interview. The university may set higher or lower criteria depending on the number of applicants.
