Railway Recruitment Boards has released the official notification inviting applications for Section Controller posts. There are 368 vacancies open for the mentioned position across different zones. The notification has been published under CEN 04/2025 and candidates can apply online within the given dates.
As per the official notification of RRB, the minimum age limit for the Section Controller post is 20 years and the maximum is 33 years as on January 1, 2026. Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories as per rules. Selected candidates will be placed in Level 6 of the 7th CPC pay matrix with an initial pay of Rs. 35,400 per month. The selection of applicants will be based on CBT, CBAT, document verification and medical examination.

The registration process for RRB Section Controller notification began on September 15, 2025 and will close on October 14, 2025. The last date for payment of application fee is October 16, 2025. Application modification window will remain open from October 17 to 26, 2025 and details for scribe candidates can be submitted between October 27 and 31, 2025.
Vacancy Details:
This drive aims to fill a total of 368 Section Controller posts. The category-wise breakup includes 174 for UR, 56 for SC, 34 for ST, 80 for OBC and 24 for EWS candidates. Additionally, 15 posts are reserved for PwBD candidates and 36 posts for Ex-Servicemen.
Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates must hold a graduate degree from a recognized university or its equivalent to apply for the Section Controller post. The minimum age is 20 years and the maximum is 33 years. Age relaxation of 3 years for OBC, 5 years for SC/ST, and 10 years for PwBD applies as per rules. Medical standards are set at A-2, and candidates who have undergone LASIK or corrective eye surgery are not eligible.
How to Apply:
Applicants who meet the eligibility can apply online by visiting the official RRB websites and completing the form. Candidates should ensure correct details are entered and all required documents are uploaded before the deadline.
Application Fee:
The application fee for General, OBC and EWS candidates is Rs. 500, of which Rs. 400 will be refunded after appearing in CBT. For SC, ST, minority, EBC, PwBD, female, transgender and ex-servicemen candidates, the fee is Rs. 250, which will be refunded after CBT deducting bank charges. Payment can be made via internet banking, debit card, credit card or UPI.
Selection Process:
The selection of candidates will be carried out in multiple stages. The first stage is a Computer Based Test (CBT) with 100 questions for 120 minutes covering reasoning, analytical ability, comprehension and related topics. There will be negative marking of 1/3 marks for wrong answers. Qualified candidates will proceed to a Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT), followed by document verification and medical examination. Merit will be prepared with 70 percent weightage for CBT and 30 percent for CBAT.
