Railway Recruitment Board has issued a notification inviting online applications for Junior Engineer, Depot Material Superintendent, Chemical Supervisor and Metallurgical Assistant posts. There are 2569 vacancies for these technical positions across different zones.
According to the notification, the age limit for the advertised posts is between 18 and 33 years as on 1 January 2026, with relaxation as per rules. The selected candidates will be placed at various locations under Indian Railways. The salary for Junior Engineer and other positions will be as per Level Six and Level Seven pay matrix.

Eligibility criteria:

For Chemical and Metallurgical Assistant posts, candidates must have a Bachelor degree in Science with Physics and Chemistry with minimum fifty five percent marks. The age limit is eighteen to thirty three years with relaxation for reserved categories, ex servicemen, persons with disabilities and other eligible groups as per rules.

Application fee:
General, OBC and EWS category candidates need to pay five hundred rupees. SC, ST and PwBD category candidates need to pay two hundred fifty rupees. Fee must be paid online.
Selection process:
The selection will be through two stages of computer based tests followed by document verification and medical examination. The first stage CBT and second stage CBT will have objective type questions. There will be negative marking for wrong answers as mentioned in the notification. Final selection will depend on merit and completion of all stages.
