India Post Office has released online applications from eligible candidates for 21,413 Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDSs) [i.e. Branch Postmaster (BPM)/Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM)/Dak Sevaks] in different offices of the Department of Posts across India. This recruitment drive will fill up 255 posts in Jammu and Kashmir. Candidates who want to apply for the posts should have passed Class 10th. The candidate must have studied the local language (Hindi/Urdu) at least up to Class 10. India Post Office is inviting applications for 255 Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) posts across various Postal Circles and Regions in India.

Pay Scale

The pay scale for Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) posts is as follows:

• Minimum TRCA for 4 hours/Level 1 – BPM: Rs. 12,000, ABPM/Dak Sevak: Rs. 10,000
• Minimum TRCA for 5 hours/Level 2 – BPM: Rs. 14,500, ABPM/Dak Sevak: Rs. 12,000

The Time Related Continuity Allowance (TRCA) is based on the number of working hours. In addition to the TRCA, GDS employees are eligible for various allowances and benefits as per India Post Office’s policy.

Educational Qualifications

Selection Process
