Population Research Centre Kashmir Invites Applications for FI, Clerk, Peon and Research Fellow Posts

Population Research Centre (PRC), University of Kashmir has released Advertisement Notice No-1 of 2025 for the engagement of contractual staff. Applications are invited from domiciles of Jammu & Kashmir for the posts of Field Investigator, Upper Division Clerk, Peon, Research Fellow-I, and Research Fellow-II.

The recruitment is purely on a contractual basis initially for one year, extendable up to three years depending on performance and continuation of funding from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The application process for Field Investigator, UDC, and Peon is online via Google Form, while Research Fellows will be selected through a walk-in interview.

Eligible candidates can apply online for the posts of Field Investigator, UDC, and Peon by 10th August 2025 up to 5:00 PM. For Research Fellow-I and II, a walk-in interview will be held on 7th August 2025 at 10:00 AM. Details of the eligibility, remuneration, and application procedure are provided below.

Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates interested in applying can check the eligibility criteria, age limit, application process, and other essential details below.

For Field Investigator, applicants must have a second-class postgraduate degree in relevant subjects like Demography, Statistics, Economics, Sociology, etc., along with experience in data collection, analysis, and report writing. Knowledge of software like SPSS, STATA, and experience with datasets like NFHS or Census is desirable.

For Upper Division Clerk, a second-class bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks is required. Applicants must have five years of post-qualification work experience, including three years in handling PFMS. Knowledge of financial rules, MS Office, and e-Marketplace operations is preferred.

For Peon, candidates must be at least Matric pass and not above 10+2.

For Research Fellow-I, a second-class postgraduate degree in relevant subjects is required along with four years of post-qualification experience. Proficiency in data collection and software like STATA/SPSS is desired.

For Research Fellow-II, similar qualifications are required, with at least one year of experience preferred. Both Research Fellow posts require field work in different parts of India.

For Research Fellow-I and II, eligible candidates must fill the Google Form by 5 August 2025 and appear for walk-in interview on 7 August 2025 at 10:00 AM at the PRC office.

Selection Process:
The selection of candidates will be on the basis of interview. For Field Investigator, UDC, and Peon, shortlisted candidates will be notified. For Research Fellow-I and II, selection will be based on performance in the walk-in interview.
