National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar, Department of Chemistry has released an official notification inviting applications from highly motivated and eligible candidates for the post of Research Associate-I (RA-I) under a sponsored research project funded by the National Mission on Himalayan Studies (NMHS), Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC), Government of India.
The project titled โCircular Bioeconomy Approach towards Catalytic Transformation of Lignocellulosic/Biopolymeric Himalayan Waste into Durable & Degradable Bioplasticโ aims to develop eco-friendly biodegradable plastic materials using Himalayan waste resources. Educational Qualification
Candidates must fulfill the following eligibility requirements:
- Ph.D in relevant branch of Science or Engineering
- Must have research publications in reputed international journals

- Experience in Dynamic Mechanical Analysis
- Experience in Rheometer handling
- Experience in synthesis related to project work

Salary Details
Selected candidates will receive Monthly Fellowship of โน58,000 plus 20% House Rent Allowance (HRA).
Project Roles and Responsibilities
The selected candidate will:
- Develop durable and degradable bioplastics using lignocellulosic Himalayan waste
- Conduct synthesis and testing related to biopolymeric materials
- Travel frequently for project-related work
- Submit quarterly progress reports
- Maintain satisfactory performance for continuation of tenure.
