National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar has invited applications for the position of Junior Research Assistant (JRA) under a DST-sponsored research project funded by JKST&IC. The recruitment is for a specialized research assignment in the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

This opportunity is part of the project titled “Water Purification Using 3D Printed Hydrogel Capsule Membrane.” The post is purely temporary and will initially be offered for a period of seven months. Extension of the tenure is subject to satisfactory performance, availability of funds, and project requirements.

The project offers a consolidated monthly emolument of ₹20,000 and is open to candidates with a strong academic background in Mechanical Engineering. Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualifications:
Applicants must possess either: B.Tech and M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with at least 60% marks (CGPA ≥ 6.5/10) for Open/OBC and 55% (CGPA ≥ 6.0) for SC/ST OR B.Tech (4-year) in Mechanical Engineering with at least 75% (CGPA ≥ 8.0) for Open/OBC and 70% (CGPA ≥ 7.5) for SC/ST along with a valid GATE score

Desirable:
Candidates with expertise in 3D printing, biomaterials, bioprinting techniques, data analysis tools, and mechanical characterization of materials will be preferred.
