The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar has officially released a notification inviting applications for the post of Research Assistant under a DST-sponsored project. The opportunity is available for eligible and motivated candidates to work on a renewable energy-based research project.
As per the advertisement issued by the Department of Electrical Engineering, the selected candidate will be involved in the research project titled “Design and Analysis of Combined Solar Photo-voltaic System and Wind Energy System using Variable Frequency Transformer (VFT) for Rural Electrification in J&K.” The initial appointment will be for a period of eight months, extendable based on performance and funding.
Candidates with a strong academic background in Electrical Engineering and relevant technical knowledge, especially in renewable energy and software tools like MATLAB or Typhoon HIL, are encouraged to apply. The position offers a consolidated monthly stipend and an opportunity to register for a PhD program at NIT Srinagar if found eligible.

Eligibility Criteria of Research Assistant Post:
Candidates must possess a B.Tech and M.Tech in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with at least 60% marks (CGPA ≥ 6.5/10) for Open/OBC and 55% (CGPA ≥ 6.0) for SC/ST.
Alternatively, candidates with only a B.Tech degree (4 years) must have 75% (CGPA ≥ 8.0) for Open/OBC or 70% (CGPA ≥ 7.5) for SC/ST and a valid GATE score.
A strong understanding of Renewable Energy, Drives, and proficiency in MATLAB or Typhoon HIL is desirable.
