The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) has issued a notification inviting applications for the posts of Senior Executive Officer (Indian Sign Language – Instructor for Deaf) and Senior Executive Officer (Indian Sign Language – Interpreter). There are a total of 3 vacancies available under this contractual engagement.
As per the official notification, the maximum age limit for the mentioned posts is below 65 years. Candidates selected for the contractual roles will receive a consolidated monthly salary of ₹36,300. The selection will be based on screening and interview. Applicants must possess required qualifications and proficiency in Indian Sign Language.

Eligibility Criteria:

The candidate applying for Instructor for Deaf must have passed Class XII in any discipline. They must have either a Diploma in Teaching Indian Sign Language (DTISL) or a C-level certification from AYJNISHD, Mumbai, or any equivalent course recognized by RCI. Proficiency in Indian Sign Language is mandatory, and basic knowledge of MS Word and PowerPoint is desirable.
For the Interpreter post, the required qualification is Class XII pass along with a Diploma in Indian Sign Language Interpreting (DISLI) or a C-level certification from AYJNISHD, Mumbai or an equivalent qualification recognized by RCI. Proficiency in Indian Sign Language is essential. Working knowledge of MS Word and PowerPoint is preferred.
Age Limit:
The upper age limit for both positions is below 65 years.
