Kashmir University Walk-in Interview 2025 for Junior Research Fellow and Junior Project Fellow

The Department of Botany, University of Kashmir, Srinagar, has announced a walk-in interview for the positions of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) and Junior Project Fellow (JPF) under the research project titled “Structure and Functioning of Himalayan Monsoon Shadow Forest Ecosystems,” specifically for the sub-project “To link species diversity for sustainable management of forests in monsoonal and monsoon-shadow forest regions of Western Himalaya.” The project is funded by the National Mission on Himalayan Studies (NMHS), Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change, Government of India.

As per the notification, there are two positions available for JRF/JPF. The initial engagement will be for one year, extendable for up to two more years based on performance, conduct, and the release of funds. The positions are purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. Candidates must attend the interview with a signed application, biodata, and self-attested copies of required documents, along with originals for verification.

The walk-in interview will be held on 11th August 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Department of Botany, University of Kashmir, Srinagar. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.

Vacancy Details:
This recruitment aims to fill 2 vacancies for Junior Research Fellow/Junior Project Fellow.

Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants must have a postgraduate degree in Botany with at least 55% marks from a recognized institution and have qualified the National Eligibility Test (NET). Preference will be given to candidates with experience in field surveys and plant sampling. If NET-qualified candidates are not available, Junior Project Fellow positions will be offered with emoluments as per Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change guidelines.

Candidates should be physically and mentally fit to undertake field surveys in high-altitude mountainous areas and will be governed by the rules of the funding agency and the University of Kashmir.

Monthly Salary:
The monthly emoluments for JRF will be Rs. 37,000 plus 16% HRA per month for the first two years and Rs. 42,000 plus 16% HRA per month for the third year. JPF salary will be as per ministry guidelines.

The selection process will be through the walk-in interview based on eligibility, qualifications, and relevant experience.
