The University of Kashmir has issued a notification inviting applications for Assistant Professor posts in the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research and Innovations. These positions are linked to the DBT-supported project focused on advanced life science research.
As per the notification, the tenure of these posts is five years or until the completion of the DBT-Builder project. The selected candidates will receive a salary under Academic Level-10 of the 7th CPC, along with applicable allowances. The selection will be through an interview, and shortlisting will follow the UGC Regulations 2018 if applications are high.

Vacancy Details
The University of Kashmir has announced two posts of Assistant Professor (Tenure) under Post Code PGD-CIRI-1 in the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research and Innovations. These posts carry Pay Matrix Level-10, ranging from Rs. 57700 to Rs. 182400.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have a PG degree with at least 55 percent marks in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics or Clinical Biochemistry. Specialization must be in Genomics, Epigenetics or Mass Spectrometry. NET is compulsory for candidates with only a PG degree, except for candidates from the UT of Jammu and Kashmir who may use SET.
Candidates with a PhD can be exempted from NET or SET if the degree meets UGC Regulations of 2009 or later. Those registered before July 11, 2009 must meet the specific conditions related to evaluation, publications and viva voce.
PhD from a foreign university ranked in the top 500 by QS, THE or ARWU is also accepted.
Application Process
Applicants must visit the website of the University of Kashmir and register using a valid email ID and mobile number. After login, they must fill in personal details, qualifications and experience and then submit the form. After submission, a printout must be taken and sent with all enclosures to the Recruitment Section of the university. The application fee is Rs. 1200 and must be paid online. Persons with benchmark disabilities do not have to pay the fee.
Shortlisting of Candidates
If a large number of applications are received, shortlisting will follow UGC Regulations 2018. The score will be based on academic record, research publications, teaching experience and awards. Shortlisting applies only if applications exceed twenty per post. Finally, selection will be based on interview performance.
