The Department of Botany, University of Kashmir, Hazratbal, Srinagar has announced a walk-in-interview for one post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF). The position is under the research project titled “Long-term monitoring of biodiversity and ecosystem processes in Indian grasslands” funded by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India under the LTEO programme through the National Centre for Biological Sciences, Bangalore.
The engagement is purely temporary and will be co-terminus with the project. The selected candidate will be required to carry out field studies at LTEO sites outside Jammu & Kashmir as well. Candidates with prior research project experience will be given preference.
The walk-in-interview is scheduled to be held on 19 August 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Department of Botany, University of Kashmir, Srinagar. Applicants must carry original certificates and documents related to their qualifications, age, marks, and experience. No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.
Vacancy Details:
The vacancy is for the post of Junior Research Fellow with one position available. The monthly emoluments will be Rs. 37,000 plus 16% HRA. The essential qualification required is M.Sc. in Botany or Plant Sciences. NET-qualified candidates with relevant project work experience will be preferred.
Interested candidates should ensure they meet the eligibility requirements before attending the interview. The candidates should also be physically and mentally fit to undertake field surveys in high-altitude mountainous regions. The selected staff will be governed by the rules of the funding agency and the University of Kashmir.
