J&K Finance Department announces Technical Member Post in GST Appellate Tribunal UT of J&K

The notification is for one vacancy of Technical Member (State/UT) in the GST Appellate Tribunal under J&K Finance Department. Apply from 5 May to 19 June 2025.

The Government of Jammu and Kashmir, Finance Department, has released a vacancy circular for the position of Technical Member (State/UT) in the Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal (GSTAT) for the Union Territory. One post is available for the bench to be established under the CGST Act, 2017 and J&K GST Act, 2017.

As per the official circular, candidates must have completed at least 25 years of continuous gazetted government service to be eligible. The appointment will be governed by the CGST Act and the GSTAT Rules, 2023. The selected candidate will receive a fixed monthly salary of ₹2,25,000 along with additional allowances and benefits as per applicable rules.

The application must be accompanied by required documents and employer certification as outlined in the notification. Late or incomplete applications will be rejected.

Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible, candidates must have completed a minimum of 25 years of continuous gazetted government service in the UT of J&K. The minimum age is 50 years, and the maximum age limit is 67 years. Those selected must be declared medically fit by an authority designated by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir.

Initial appointment will be for a period of 4 years, with the possibility of a 2-year extension. Serving officers or judges must resign or retire before joining.

Application submission will begin on 05.05.2025 and the last date for submitting applications is on 19.06.2025.

However, in case of difficulty in uploading any document while making the online application, the document(s) may be forwarded by email by the last date to email ID psfinance-jk@nic.in, clearly mentioning the online application number in the email.

Selection Process:
The selection will be done through a Search-Cum-Selection Committee. Eligible applications will be scrutinized, and shortlisted candidates may be called for an interaction or interview. The committee will recommend a panel of two candidates for final selection.
