Jammu University Bhaderwah Campus invites applications for JRF and Project Associate positions

The Department of English, Bhaderwah Campus, University of Jammu has announced vacancies for the posts of Junior Research Fellow and Project Associate under a DST-SHRI funded research project titled “Promotion of Endangered Dialects of Erstwhile Doda District with the Help of AI based Approaches.” Interested and eligible candidates are invited to apply through email within 15 days from the date of advertisement.

As per the official notice, the tenure of the project is three years. The initial appointment will be for one year, which can be extended based on the candidate’s performance. The monthly emoluments for both positions will be as per the DST rules. The recruitment is purely temporary and co-terminus with the duration of the project.

The selection will be made based on eligibility, experience, and interview performance. No TA or DA will be provided to candidates appearing for the interview. Vacancy Details:
This notification aims to fill two positions under the DST-SHRI funded project at Bhaderwah Campus, University of Jammu. The available posts are Junior Research Fellow and Project Associate, both on a temporary basis for the duration of the project.

Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates applying for the Junior Research Fellow post must have a Master’s Degree in English with at least 55% marks and must be NET or SLET qualified. Those with experience in phonetic transcription, dialect documentation, or working with local languages will be preferred. Familiarity with Pahari dialects and tools like ELAN or PRAAT will be considered an advantage. Candidates must also be comfortable with fieldwork in remote areas.

The upper age limit for the JRF post is 28 years as on the date of application. Relaxation of up to five years is available for candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC, and physically handicapped categories as per the government norms.
