Islamic University of Science & Technology (IUST), Awantipora has invited online applications for the post of contractual Assistant Professor in the Departments of Computer Science & Engineering and Artificial Intelligence. The appointment is purely on an academic arrangement for the year 2025.
According to the official notification, candidates will be appointed till 31st December 2025 or until the post is filled on a substantive basis. Selected candidates will be paid a consolidated monthly salary between ₹45,000 to ₹50,000 depending on their qualifications. The selection will be based on UGC guidelines through interview only.

For Artificial Intelligence: Master’s degree with 55% in Computer Science/AI/Data Science/Software Engineering or equivalent; with NET/SLET/SET or Ph.D. as per UGC Regulations 2009/2016. How to Apply:
Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria are encouraged to apply through the IUST official portal www.iust.ac.in. After online submission, hard copy of the form with documents must be submitted to the respective Head of Department by 30-05-2025.
Candidates are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of ₹300 online through the university portal while submitting the online application form.
Selection Process:
The selection of candidates will be on the basis of shortlisting as per UGC Regulations 2018, followed by interview only. Shortlisting criteria include Appendix II (Table 3A) with 20 candidates shortlisted per post and 5 for every additional post. The selection committee panel will remain valid for one year.
