IIMC Faculty Notification 2025 Out for Professor and Assistant Professor Posts, Apply Online till 6 October

Indian Institute of Mass Communication has released Advertisement No. 01/2025 inviting online applications for faculty positions in Journalism and Mass Communication. The notification includes one post of Professor and twenty posts of Assistant Professor across its campuses in New Delhi, Dhenkanal, Aizawl, Amravati, Jammu and Kottayam.

As per the notification, the pay level for Professor is Level 14 and for Assistant Professor is Level 10. The eligibility is as per UGC regulations on minimum qualifications for appointment of teachers. Candidates selected can be posted or transferred to any IIMC campus in India or abroad.

The last date for submitting online application is 6 October 2025. A hard copy along with supporting documents and application fee must reach the Deputy Registrar, IIMC New Delhi by 13 October 2025, 5.00 PM. The application fee is Rs 3000 for UR and OBC, and Rs 1500 for EWS, SC, ST, PwBD and Women candidates.

Eligibility Criteria:
For Professor, eligibility is Ph.D. with minimum ten research publications and ten years teaching or research experience, or an outstanding professional with Ph.D. and ten years’ experience. For Assistant Professor, eligibility is Master’s degree with 55 percent marks and NET or equivalent, or Ph.D. as per UGC rules. Ph.D. holders from top 500 ranked foreign universities are also eligible. Proficiency in Hindi and English is required, and language proficiency in regional languages like Marathi, Urdu, Malayalam, and Odia is desirable for relevant diploma courses.

How to Apply:
Candidates must apply online at www.iimc.gov.in/vacancy. After submission, the completed application along with self-attested documents and demand draft must be sent to the Deputy Registrar, IIMC, Aruna Asaf Ali Marg, JNU New Campus, New Delhi – 110067 by the specified date.

Application Fee:
The fee is Rs 3000 for UR and OBC, and Rs 1500 for EWS, SC, ST, PwBD and Women. Payment must be made through Demand Draft in favour of Indian Institute of Mass Communication, New Delhi.

Selection Process:
The shortlisting will be based on academic score as per UGC Appendix II and the final selection will be based on interview performance.
