Scholarship and Tenure Details
Selected candidates will receive fellowship benefits as per Indian Institute of Geomagnetism guidelines.
The fellowship will be provided under JRF or SRF category based on eligibility and performance. The tenure and stipend structure will follow institutional norms.
Selection Process of IIG Research Scholar Recruitment 2026
Selection will be conducted through the following stages:
Stage 1 — Screening of Applications
Stage 2 — Entrance Examination (for candidates without GATE/NET/INSPIRE qualification)
Stage 3 — Personal Interview
Candidates possessing valid GATE, NET, or INSPIRE (JRF) qualification may be called directly for interview.

Selected candidates will conduct research at one of the following locations:

- EGRL — Tirunelveli
- KSKGRL — Prayagraj
- NEGRL — Shillong
- Magnetic Observatories of IIG
Candidates may be assigned to any of the above locations based on requirement.
