Government College of Engineering and Technology (GCET), Jammu, has issued an advertisement inviting applications from eligible candidates for engagement as Assistant Professors and Assistant Lecturers on an academic arrangement basis for the academic session 2025–26. The appointments are purely on a need basis and temporary in nature.
As per the notification released by GCET Jammu, the posts are available in several streams including Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Humanities, and Training & Placement. Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria in terms of educational qualifications and experience. The upper age limit is 45 years as on the last date of application.
Interested and eligible candidates are required to submit the filled application form along with necessary documents to the Principal, GCET Jammu, before 15th July 2025. The application must include a bank receipt of Rs. 200 as the fee. The selection will be carried out based on merit and interview. Eligibility Criteria of Assistant Professor and Lecturer Posts:

Educational Qualifications:
For Engineering disciplines, candidates must have B.E./B.Tech and a Master’s degree in the relevant branch with first class or equivalent either in B.E./B.Tech or Master’s Degree. Ph.D. is desirable.
For Training and Placement, candidates should have B.E./B.Tech and a Master’s degree in the relevant branch. Preference will be given to candidates with at least 2 years of experience in Human Resource or Personnel Management.
For Physics, Mathematics, and Humanities, candidates must have a Master’s degree with at least 55% marks and NET/SLET/SET or a Ph.D. in the relevant subject. If NET/SET/Ph.D. candidates are unavailable, Assistant Lecturers may be appointed with only a Master’s degree.
Age Limit:
The upper age limit for all candidates is 45 years as on the last date of receipt of the application.

Selection Process:
The selection of candidates will be on the basis of a written test or interview, depending on the number of applicants. Candidates with NET/SLET/SET/Ph.D. are exempted from the screening test. Final selection will be based on a merit list prepared by the selection committee.
