The Central University of Jammu has released Advertisement No. CUJ/SDCSS/2025/185 dated 28th August 2025 inviting applications for five Junior Research Fellow (JRF) positions under the Satish Dhawan Centre for Space Sciences. The posts are purely temporary for an initial period of one year, extendable up to three years based on performance.
Candidates selected as JRFs will receive a stipend of Rs. 37,000/- per month plus HRA for the first two years and Rs. 42,000/- plus HRA in the third year. Shortlisted candidates will be called for a written test and/or interview.

Qualification: B.E./B.Tech. & M.Tech./M.E. in Electronics/Communication/Computer Science or allied streams with GATE/NET. Ph.D. preferred.
Job Profile: Rocket deployment system development, communication system and ground station, satellite model designing, high-quality component development. - JRF-02 – Electronics and Communication (Avionics) (01 Post)
Qualification: B.E./B.Tech. & M.Tech./M.E. in ECE/Electronics/Computer Science or allied streams with First Class in both degrees and GATE/NET. Ph.D. preferred.
Job Profile: Sub-system study, experimental launching of amateur rockets, SATCOM applications, telecommunications, wireless/microwave communication. - JRF-03 – Remote Sensing and GIS (01 Post)
Qualification: B.E./B.Tech. in Remote Sensing/Geo-informatics with GATE OR M.Sc. in Remote Sensing/Geology/Environmental Sciences with NET/GATE and Diploma in GIS. (Minimum 60% marks).
Job Profile: Microwave/Hyperspectral Remote Sensing, LIDAR analysis, MATLAB/FORTRAN/Python coding, ArcGIS/ERDAS software handling, disaster management support. - JRF-04 – Materials Science (01 Post)
Qualification: M.Sc./M.Tech. in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science or equivalent with GATE/NET. Ph.D. preferred.
Job Profile: Computational materials science, electronic structure calculations, nano-scale thermal transport properties, programming in MATLAB/Python/C/C++, Linux familiarity. - JRF-05 – Materials Science (01 Post)
Qualification: M.Sc./M.Tech. in Physics/Materials Science/Environmental/Atmospheric Science/Climate Science/Meteorology/Geophysics with GATE/NET. Ph.D. preferred.
Job Profile: Handling high-end instruments, materials synthesis, climate and atmospheric studies.
Selected JRFs with NET/GATE will have the opportunity to register for a PhD program at CU Jammu (subject to eligibility).
