The Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) under the Indian Army has officially invited applications for the post of Short Service Commissioned Medical Officers. Applicants must have passed their final MBBS (Part I and II) in not more than two attempts and completed their internship by March 31, 2025. Candidates should have appeared for NEET PG in 2023 or 2024. Those with a PG degree are exempt from reappearing in NEET PG, as their earlier score will be used. Applicants must hold permanent registration with any State Medical Council, NMC, or MCI.
For MBBS candidates, the age limit is 30 years or below as of December 31, 2025 (born on or after January 2, 1996). For PG candidates, the maximum age is 35 years (born on or after January 2, 1991).
How to Apply:
Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria are encouraged to apply through the official portal join.afms.gov.in. The application must be completed online.
Candidates are required to pay an application fee of ₹200 using a debit card, credit card, or net banking. The fee is non-refundable.
Selection Process:
The selection of candidates will be on the basis of NEET PG score (converted to a 200-mark scale) followed by an interview and a Special Medical Board examination. The final merit list will be based on NEET PG marks and interview score. A minimum of 50% marks in the interview is required to qualify.
