Army AFMS SSC MO Posts 2025 – 400 Vacancies, Apply by May 12

The Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) under the Indian Army has officially invited applications for the post of Short Service Commissioned Medical Officers. Both male and female medical graduates are eligible to apply. This opportunity is open for MBBS and PG degree holders who have appeared for NEET PG 2023 or 2024.

As per the notification released by AFMS, a total of 400 vacancies are available—300 for male candidates and 100 for female candidates. The recruitment is for the post of Medical Officer on a Short Service Commission (SSC) basis. The selection will be based on NEET PG scores followed by an interview and medical examination.

Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants must have passed their final MBBS (Part I and II) in not more than two attempts and completed their internship by March 31, 2025. Candidates should have appeared for NEET PG in 2023 or 2024. Those with a PG degree are exempt from reappearing in NEET PG, as their earlier score will be used. Applicants must hold permanent registration with any State Medical Council, NMC, or MCI.

For MBBS candidates, the age limit is 30 years or below as of December 31, 2025 (born on or after January 2, 1996). For PG candidates, the maximum age is 35 years (born on or after January 2, 1991).

How to Apply:
Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria are encouraged to apply through the official portal join.afms.gov.in. The application must be completed online.

Candidates are required to pay an application fee of ₹200 using a debit card, credit card, or net banking. The fee is non-refundable.

Selection Process:
The selection of candidates will be on the basis of NEET PG score (converted to a 200-mark scale) followed by an interview and a Special Medical Board examination. The final merit list will be based on NEET PG marks and interview score. A minimum of 50% marks in the interview is required to qualify.
