Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates applying for Junior Assistant must hold a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university along with a typing speed of 35 words per minute. Candidates applying for Junior Stenographer or Junior Scale Stenographer must possess a bachelor’s degree along with shorthand ability of 65 words per minute and typing speed of 35 words per minute. Applicants must have the required qualifications by 18 November 2025.
The age limit as on 1 January 2025 is up to 40 years for general category. For reserved categories including SC, ST, RBA, ALC, IB, EWS and OBC the upper age limit is 43 years. Ex-servicemen can apply up to 48 years. In-service and contractual employees can apply up to 40 years. Candidates must be domiciles of Jammu and Kashmir.
How to Apply:
Applicants must visit jkssb.nic.in and complete the online application form. They must upload required documents including photograph, signature and certificates. After filling all details, candidates must pay the application fee and submit the form. A printout should be kept for reference.
Application Fee:
The application fee for general category is Rs 600. For SC, ST and EWS the fee is Rs 500. Payments must be made online and the fee is non-refundable.
Selection Process:
The selection will be carried out through a written examination. Candidates applying for stenographer posts will also undergo a typing or shorthand skill test. The final selection will depend on merit based on written marks and skill test performance where applicable.
