High Court of J&K and Ladakh announces Vacancies for District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commissions

The High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh has officially released an advertisement inviting applications for the position of Member (Female) in four District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commissions. The vacancies are available in the districts of Anantnag, Kupwara, Udhampur, and Jammu.

As per the official notification, applicants must be at least 35 years old and possess a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university. Additionally, candidates must have a minimum of ten years of experience in fields such as Consumer Affairs, Law, Public Affairs, Administration, Economics, Commerce, Industries, Finance, Management, Engineering, Technology, Public Health, or Medicine.

Interested candidates who meet the eligibility criteria must submit their applications digitally via email before the last date of 15th May 2025. Candidates are required to attach a duly filled PDF application form along with the receipt of the application fee.

Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university along with at least 10 years of professional experience in Consumer Affairs, Law, Public Affairs, Administration, Economics, Commerce, Industries, Finance, Management, Engineering, Technology, Public Health, or Medicine.

Age Limit: Minimum 35 years as of the date of notification.

Other Requirements: Candidates must not have any disqualification such as insolvency, unsound mind, conviction for an offense involving moral turpitude, or removal/dismissal from service. Physical fitness certification from a Civil Surgeon or Chief Medical Officer is required before appointment.

Application Process:

Selection Process:
The selection of candidates will be based on a written examination comprising two papers followed by a viva-voce. Paper I will consist of objective-type questions on General Knowledge, Constitution of India, and Consumer-related laws. Paper II will be descriptive, including an essay and a case study on consumer affairs.
