Jammu and Kashmir Post Office Recruitment 2024: India Post has released an advertisement inviting Online applications from the eligible applicants for 442 posts of Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) [Branch Postmaster (BPM)/Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM)/Dak Sevaks] in Jammu and Kashmir Post Office. Interested candidates are required to apply online at indiapostgdsonline.gov.in. The Last date for Registration and submission of online applications is 05 August 2024.

As per the official notification of India Post GDS, applicants must have the Secondary School Examination pass certificate of 10th standard with passing marks in Mathematics and English or equivalent. The selection will be based on marks obtained/ conversion of Grades/ Points to marks in the Secondary School Examination of 10th standard. Salary of J&K Post Office GDS Recruitment:
Emoluments in the form of Time Related Continuity Allowance (TRCA) plus Dearness Allowance thereon are paid to the GDS. The applicable TRCA to different categories are as under: –

  1. BPM: Rs. 12,000 – 29,380/-
  2. ABPM/Dak Sevak: Rs. 10,000 – 24,470/-

Application Fee: Applicants are required to pay an application fee of Rs 100/-. However, female candidates, SC/ST candidates, PWD candidates, and Transwoman candidates are exempt from paying application fees.

How to Apply for J&K Post Office GDS Recruitment 2024:
The candidates fulfilling eligibility for India Post GDS Recruitment 2024 are required to follow the below-given steps.

  • Visit the official website of the India Post Office at www.indiapostgdsonline.gov.in.
  • Register by clicking on the “Stage 1. Registration” tab on the GDS online Engagement Portal.
  • Keep the registration number and password for the further application process.
  • Pay the Application Fees
  • After registration and paying application fees the candidates have to apply online.
  • The candidates have to select the division and exercise preferences in the application form after validating the registration number & mobile number.
  • Upload a Recent Photograph and Signature in the formats and sizes prescribed
  • Submit the form and take a printout of the application form for future reference.

J&K Post Office GDS 2024 Selection Process:
The India Post GDS (Gramin Dak Sevak) Selection Process involves a systematic evaluation of their qualifications and eligibility.

Shortlisting Process: Applicants will be selected based on a system-generated merit list.
Merit List Preparation: The merit list will be prepared by converting grades/points to marks from the Secondary School Examination of the 10th standard. Marks will be aggregated to a percentage with accuracy to 4 decimals. Passing all subjects is mandatory.
Marks Calculation: For applicants with marks mentioned in their mark sheets, total marks will be calculated, ensuring candidates with higher marks are prioritized.
Grade-to-Marks Conversion: Applicants with only grades will have marks calculated for each subject using a multiplication factor of 9.5 based on the grade.
CGPA Calculation: In cases of Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA), marks will be derived by multiplying CGPA by 9.5.
Tie-Breaking Criteria: In case of a tie, priority will be given based on age, followed by specific categories. The department may introduce additional criteria if needed.
Rejection Criteria: Incomplete or incorrect applications will be rejected. Wrong documents or unnecessary information uploads will lead to rejection.
Document Verification: During verification, any mismatch between uploaded portal data and original documents, even if minor, may result in rejection.
Undertaking Submission: Shortlisted candidates must submit an undertaking regarding the accuracy of information provided in the application, with consequences for furnishing fake or incorrect details
