Group ‘A’ Gazetted Officer Job Vacancies in ICG: The Indian Coast Guard has issued a recruitment notification for Assistant Commandant (Group ‘A’ Gazetted Officer) posts in various categories for the CGCAT-01/2025 Batch. Applications are invited through the official website from eligible candidates starting February 19, 2024. Indian Coast Guard Job Recruitment 2024 – Vacancy Details

  • General Duty (GD) Branch
    • Age Limit: 21-25 years (with a 5-year relaxation for Coast Guard personnel).
    • Education: Degree with 60% marks, including Mathematics and Physics (55% in each) up to Class XII.
  • Technical Branch (Mechanical)
    • Age Limit: 21-25 years (with a 5-year relaxation for Coast Guard personnel).
    • Education: Engineering degree with 60% marks, including Mathematics and Physics (55% in each) up to Class XII.
  • Technical Branch (Electrical/Electronics)
    • Age Limit: 21-25 years (with a 5-year relaxation for Coast Guard personnel).
    • Education: Engineering degree with 60% marks, including Mathematics and Physics (55% in each) up to Class XII; or completion of graduation after a diploma with 55% marks in the diploma’s physics and mathematics curriculum.

The application fee for UR/OBC/EWS applicants is Rs. 300/-, and there is no fee for SC/ST candidates. Payment of the examination fee is accepted only through Debit Card, Credit Card, or Net Banking in the designated fee mode.

Indian Coast Guard Recruitment 2024 – How to Apply?

Interested and eligible candidates may apply online only through the official website of the Indian Coast Guard — joinindiancoastguard.cdac.in.

Applications will be accepted only ‘ONLINE’ from 19 Feb 2024 (1100 Hrs) to 28 Feb 2024 (1730 Hrs). The candidates are to log in to https://joinindiancoastguard.cdac.in and follow the instructions for registering with e-mail ID/mobile number.

Note: Online registration for CGCAT-2025 batch will commence from 19 Feb 2024.

Selection Process

The selection of Assistant Commandants is based on an all-India order of merit which is based on the performance of candidates in various stages (I – V) of examination (explained in detail below) and the number of vacancies available for the post. Clearing of Stage I, II, III, IV and V is compulsory for recruitment in ICG. All candidates will be compulsorily subjected to biometric, photo identification and document verification during various stages of examination. The details of the various stages of the examination are as follows:-

  1. Stage-I (CGCAT): All candidates for all branches shall appear in a computer-based online screening test known as CGCAT. The test will be conducted in designated centres located all over India. The test comprises 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQ) carrying four marks for each correct answer and one negative mark for each incorrect answer.
  2. Stage-II {Preliminary Selection Board (PSB)}: Based on the performance in Stage-I, candidates will be shortlisted for appearing in Stage-II (PSB) which will be conducted for a day at Noida, Mumbai/Goa, Chennai and Kolkata centres. Candidates are to give their choice for the PSB centre at the time of filling of the application form. Candidates will be screened through the Computerised Cognitive Battery Test (CCBT) and Picture Perception & Discussion Test (PP&DT).
  3. Stage-III: Final Selection Board (FSB). The candidates qualifying for Stage-III will be intimated on completion of stage-II at respective centres. The schedule of Stage-III will be intimated to the candidate on personal Login IDs. FSB is conducted at the Coast Guard Selection Board (CGSB) located at Noida and spans over five days. The candidates are subjected to Psychological Test, Group Task and Interview (Personality test).
  4. Stage-IV (Medical Examination): The candidates who clear Stage-III are required to undergo a special medical examination at Base Hospital, New Delhi.
  5. Stage-V (Induction): The candidates who clear Stage – IV and stand in All India Merit List as per the vacancies available will be provisionally selected for training and will be required to report at INA Ezhimala for Naval Orientation Course (NOC) as per the instructions. All India Merit List will be based on combined marks of Stage-I and Stage-III. Candidates reporting at INA Ezhimala for training will first undergo photo and biometric verification.
