Eligibility Criteria for AFCAT 2 2024

Below are the detailed eligibility criteria for AFCAT 2 2024.

Age Limit:

(i) Flying Branch:

  • Minimum age: 20 years
  • Maximum age: 24 years
  • The upper age limit for candidates with valid Commercial Pilot License: is 26 years
  • Date of Birth: Between 02/01/2001 to 01/01/2005

(ii) Ground Duty (Technical/Non-Technical) Branches:

  • Minimum age: 20 years
  • Maximum age: 26 years
  • Date of Birth: Between 02/01/1999 to 01/01/2005

Note: Candidates must be unmarried below 25 years of age at the start of the course. Widows/Widowers and divorcees below 25 years are not eligible.

Educational Qualification:

Flying Branch:

  • 10+2 level: Minimum 50% marks in Physics and Mathematics
  • Graduation: Three-year degree OR BE/BTech with at least 60% from a recognized university.

Ground Duty (Technical) Branch (Aeronautical Engineering – Electronics):

  • 10+2 level: Minimum 60% marks in Physics and Mathematics
  • Graduation/Post-Graduation: Degree in engineering/technology with at least 60% from a recognized university.

Selection Process:

AFSB Testing Stage 1:

  • Officer Intelligence Rating Test
  • Picture Perception and Discussion Test (PP&DT)
  • Candidates not clearing Stage 1 will be rejected.

AFSB Testing Stage 2:

  • Psychological Tests
  • Group Tests
  • AFSB Interview
  • Computerized Pilot Selection System (CPSS) Test (for Flying Branch applicants)
  • Medical Examination
  • Recommended candidates proceed to a medical examination.
  • Final merit list based on written exam and AFSB interviews.
  • Joining letters issued to shortlisted candidates for respective training academies.

Application Fee:

Candidates applying for AFCAT entry need to pay Rs. 550/- + GST (non-refundable). This fee is not applicable for NCC special entry.

AFCAT 2 Application Process:

Candidates can apply online through the official websites “https://careerindianairforce.cdac.in” or “https://afcat.cdac.in” once the detailed notification is released by the Indian Air Force. Below is the step-by-step process for application.

Step 1

  • Visit the official website or click on the provided link.
  • New users must register first by clicking on “New User Register”.
  • Enter your mobile number and email to register.
  • Fill in the OTP sent to your mobile number and email, then click “Submit”.
  • Receive your Login ID and Password via SMS and email.

Step 2

  • Log in using your Registration Number and Password.
  • Select the post.
  • Fill in other details, including educational qualifications.
  • Pay the examination fee online via Credit/Debit Card or Internet Banking.
  • Upload a scanned color photograph and Signature in JPEG format.
